    Changing the letter "y" to "i"
    1. One useful spelling rule to remember is that when a word ends in the letter "y" with a consonant before it, we change the 'y" to "i when adding a suffix. For example. "study -studied. The exception to this rule is when we add the suffix '-ing'. In this case, the 'y does not change. For example, "study - studying".
    2. If a word ends in the letter "y' with a vowel before it, the "y" does not change to "i when we add a suffix. For example. delay - delays".
